Meet Linda Wenzel, the Housecature Artist.
Traveling the country as an Air Force brat gave Linda a real appreciation of the unique styles of homes from one city to the next. The local styles, landscapes and personalities of homes genuinely peeked her interest.
In the early 70s, this interest led her to begin a hobby of creating watercolor paintings of homes. Linda called these unique paintings, “Housecatures,” because they captured the personality and style of each home. Each work of art delivered a fanciful quality and people loved to see the results.
Linda began working with realtors. It was quite the relationship as these agents and brokers actually used her wonderful “housecature” paintings for their ads. Then, the agents gave the painting to the buyer or seller as a gift. Everyone was delighted. This was a very special offering and people loved the work.
Along Linda’s journey as a housecature painter, the Los Angeles Times featured her work on the front page of their Real Estate Section. This was in June of 1979. Well, all heck broke loose. Immediately, the talented artist began to receive orders from all over the country. Linda even had orders pour in from other countries. It was easy for Linda to accommodate the numerous requests since she had the option of 1) painting the artwork on site, or 2) working from a photograph.
Linda produced hundreds of paintings in the 70s and 80s. When the housing market went downhill, Linda changed careers opting to work in the telecommunications industry (for about 25 years).
You can’t hold back creativity and after this 25 year hiatus, Linda is back, returned to her calling as an artist.
Her “Housecatures” business is now returned and she is ready to produce a wonderful, memorable work for you.
“I plan to be involved in local art shows and advertise my housecature business on the Internet,” Linda explains.

Linda creates “Notecards” from the Housecatures for her clients.
The Notecards were popular to send friends and family your new address, for party invitations, or Christmas Cards – “From our home to yours at Christmas”.
Over the next years, I painted hundreds of “Housecatures” of both homes and businesses. This was the hotspot for music and fun in the 70s. (Beach Bum Burts – Current site of the Cheesecake Factory in Redondo Beach)
